உடனே.......உங்கள் பெயரை சொல்லுவீர்கள் ???... ஆனால் என் நிலைமை வேறு ! முதலில் என் மனதில் ஒரு if <> then... loop* ஓடும்; என்ன கொடுமை இன்பா என்று நினைத்தேன்.... கல்லூரி முதல்வரால் உன் பெயரை கூட உச்சரிக்முடியவில்லை என்று... எனக்கு அப்பொழுதுதான் புரிந்தது ஓவவொரு மாநிலத்தினர் ஓவவொருவிதமாக உச்சரிப்பார்கள் என்று. ஆங்கிலத்தில் Permutation, Combination என்று சொல்வார்கள்...... யாராவது உங்களிடம் பெயரை கேட்டால், என்ன சொல்லுவீர்கள் ?

பின்னே என் பெயரினை எப்படி சொல்வது என்று ஒரு Switch.... case.....# ஓடும்;
பெயரை சொல்வதற்கு .....நான் ஏன் இவளோ யோசிக்கிறேன் என்று பார்க்கிறீங்களா ??
காரணம் உண்டு ... இது ஒரு நீண்ட ஆச்சரியம், வேதனை மற்றும் புன்னகை கலந்தக் கதை.
விருதுநகரில் இருந்த வரை என் பெயருக்கு எந்த ஒரு மிரட்டல் கூட வந்தது கிடையாது; கோயம்பததுர், பங்களுறு வந்தஉடன் என் பெயரினை பல விதங்களில் என் பெயர் உச்சரிப்பதை கேட்கத் தொடங்கினேன், காரணம் ஓவவொரு ஊரின் மொழிக்ஏற்ப என் பெயர் அவதாரம் எடுத்தது; இதில் ஒரு ஆச்சரியம் ஓவவொரு பெயரும் ரொம்ப வித்யாசம்.
என் கல்லூரி நேற்முக தேர்வில், என் முதல் கேள்வி... என் பெயரை எப்படி உச்சரிப்பது என்று தான் ?? காரணம் அவர் கேரளாவை சேர்ந்தவர். என் பெயரை படிக்க முயன்றார், முடியலை அவரால்.
இதுவே இப்படி என்றால் வெளிநாட்டினர் பத்தி சொல்லவா வேண்டும் ? இப்பவும் Client உடன் Interact பண்ணும் பொழுது ... என் பெயரை அவர்கள் கொத்து பரோட்டா செய்துவிடுகிறார்கள்.
இதோ என் பெயரின் சில.....

இவனுக்கு இன்பா என்று சொல்லலாமா அல்லது இன்பராஜன் என்று சொல்லலாமா அல்லது ராஜ் என்று சொல்லலாமா ?
இவன் North Indian என்றால் ராஜ் என்று தான் சொல்ல வேண்டும்... South Indian என்றால் இன்பா, இன்பராஜ் என்றால் கொஞ்சம் புரியும்.

U think of my situation, how many times in our college days while taking attendance, Mam could have faced girls side, expecting some one to say present mam...

Your blog itself has reason for this, which is difference in pronounciation between people.
In my view,
if you want to become close to anybody, the first thing which u will lose is the name.
In my case,
calling me or reffering me has taken different forms like this:
laxmi, latchumi, lakshmi, latchu, pullee, koti,narayanan, narayan,naren, recently jai..
etc.,
but i don't have a single friend or who is closer to me who calls me lakshmi narayanan with my complete name.
Even my parents/relatives call me as santosh with my petname, (even reducing it as santhu).
For all these i am actually proud of it, they themself take privilege in calling me with shorter names, (Let their intention be anything.) I feel somebody is thinking me closer to their heart.
Definitely i agree to one point, whoever it may be if he is literate, he may come from any part of the world, they should respect the language in which names are and take time to understand how the name should be pronounced, atleast for the first time when you get introduced to others.
congrats, good blog and i will definitely welcome ur thoughts in that aspect.
